VCCS Alum Pays It Forward!
On Thursday, August 22, Victory Christian Center School had the joy of welcoming back one of its own—Rubin Sloan, Class of 2011. Rubin, founder of the organization FLY DAD, recently reached out with a desire to bless current students by collecting and donating school supplies. True to his word, he arrived on campus with his family, bringing much-needed items specifically for our international students.
While the gifts were a tangible blessing, the wisdom Rubin shared was equally impactful. Standing once again in the halls where he once walked as a student, Rubin reflected honestly on his journey. He remembered not always appreciating the lessons being planted in him at VCCS. In fact, he humorously admitted to “hating and often dodging Miss McCullough.” Yet, with maturity and hindsight, he now recognizes that those very lessons—both academic and spiritual—opened doors, provided access, and gave him the staying power to succeed in life.
Today, Rubin not only values what was instilled in him but honors those who faithfully sowed into his life. He shared that he is daily reaping the benefits of wisdom, knowledge, and most importantly, the Word of God that shaped his character and his future.
Rubin’s return was more than a visit—it was a reminder of the lasting legacy VCCS continues to build. His act of generosity and words of encouragement exemplify what it means to pay it forward.
Thank you, Rubin, for giving back and for affirming the value of the seeds planted during your time at Victory. Your journey is a powerful testimony of the harvest that comes when God’s Word takes root.
