We are so excited to celebrate Melvin Eugene Rendleman Jr., author of Not By Sight and Coaching the Culture, and our very own Athletic Director at VCCS! From beginning his Victory journey in 1989 as a second grader to graduating with the Class of 2000, his path has been rooted in this community. A proud graduate of Winston-Salem State University, Melvin has invested over 20 years into coaching basketball—leading our very own Kings to two state championship titles and shaping young men both on and off the court.

His creative and out-of-the-box thinking has propelled him forward, enabling him to soar through trials as well as triumphs. Melvin’s passion, encouragement, and commitment to excellence continue to impact our students, staff, and community in powerful ways.

Congratulations, Coach Mel, on the release of Not By Sight! To this we say, to God be the Glory.
