William B. Davis Entrepreneur Challenge

From April 9 to May 5, 2025, the WBD Foundation conducted a transformative seminar for the VCCS High School Economics class. Over the course of five engaging sessions, students participated in the ChristianMillionaire’s Mind Exercise—a unique experience designed to teach biblical financial principles and entrepreneurial thinking. This initiative, which has been running successfully for the past five years, emphasizes the importance of tithing, understanding God-honoring reasons for prosperity (such as financing the Gospel and being a blessing to others), comparing the habits of millionaires versus the poor, learning how to focus by “Following One Course Until Successful,” and handling financial success with integrity.

Each student received $50 in seed money and was challenged to multiply it to at least $250 within 30 days, while completing required documentation and practicing delayed gratification by not spending the seed money for the first week. Even in the midst of testing, spring break, and graduation preparations, our students embraced the challenge with creativity and resilience. They encountered real-life scenarios that taught them how to navigate unexpected circumstances while maintaining focus and discipline. The rules were clear: tithe from your increase, do not spend your seed money, complete all necessary paperwork, and meet the $250 goal to qualify.

VCCS students rose to the occasion and collectively raised $5,623. For comparison, other participating campuses raised $4,002 (Davidson, 18 students), $3,978 (Huntersville, 16 students), $3,716 (Rock Hill, 21 students), and $2,331 (Gastonia, 14 students). WBDF expressed how proud they are of our students, and we echo that sentiment with hearts full of gratitude. To God be the glory for the creativity, perseverance, and kingdom excellence displayed by our students!
