VCCS Welcomes Abel Taye, Curriculum Director for CUFI

During Wednesday's chapel service, we were blessed to welcome Abel Taye, Curriculum Director for Christians United for Israel (CUFI). Mr. Taye shared a powerful and encouraging word reminding our students of the biblical mandate to support Israel and the importance of standing firm in our own faith. Using Scripture, he walked us through Israel’s story—God’s covenant with Abraham, His deliverance through Moses, and His divine positioning of Esther “for such a time as this.” He reminded us that the Bible is the story of God at work through His people, and Israel remains at the center of that story.

Mr. Taye also helped our students understand the challenges Israel faces today and the rise of antisemitism that leaves many Jewish students feeling isolated. His charge to us was clear: as believers, we are called to stand on the Word of God, to be unwavering in our faith, and to be proud friends who reflect God’s heart toward Israel and His people.

He closed by reminding us that just like Esther, we too have been positioned by God in this moment of history. Our voice matters, our stand matters, and our obedience matters as we honor God and support His people. What a blessing it was to receive this timely word and to witness our students leaning in with such maturity and understanding.
