VCCS Kicks Off CTE Awareness Month with CPCC Career Exploration Visit
Victory Christian Center School students launched Career and Technical Education (CTE) Awareness Month with an inspiring trip to Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). The visit gave students an up-close look at the many pathways and programs available after high school, including opportunities that combine education, certification, and hands-on experience.
As students explored the modern CPCC campus, they were greeted by staff who shared insight into academic and technical programs that lead directly to rewarding careers. Many students expressed excitement at learning about alternate pathways to success—from skilled trades and health sciences to hospitality, business, and technology. The experience opened their eyes to the many ways education can align with their passions, talents, and career goals.
At VCCS, career readiness is at the heart of the Thrive Center, where students can explore their futures with personalized guidance and support. Throughout November, students are encouraged to visit the Thrive Center to take career assessments through NCWorks, learn about licenses and certifications, and discover career pathways that fit their unique strengths.
Parents and students can also take the assessment at home by visiting:

In addition, VCCS will host a special CTE Lunch Series throughout the month, inviting professionals from diverse industries to share their journeys. Students will meet local tradesmen, health science professionals, property managers, hospitality leaders, marketing experts, and entrepreneurs who turned their skills into thriving careers.
This month is all about exposure and empowerment—helping every VCCS student see that their future truly has options.
