The Kings have a consistent record in academics. Over its 18-year history, students have been selected to participate in various state, regional and national leadership conferences and workshops to include:

• North Carolina Governor's School
• North Carolina House and Senate Page Programs.

Students have been recognized locally and regionally as:

• 2007 and 2008 North Carolina individual state Math Fair winner First place team winners in the 2004, 2007 and 2008 regional Mock Trial Competition and individual winners in 1998-2008
• First place in 2009 State and second place winners in the International Mock Trial Competitions.
