SPAA TOURNAMENT- QUARTER FINALS
VCCS Kings vs. Hickory Christian Knights

The teams came out playing fast paced, but highly skilled. The first quarter, the teams stayed closed ending the quarter tied at 11 all. 

2^nd Quarter - The teams continued to stay close or tie first with a score of 17 all. Eventually the Kings gained a 7pt. lead with just over 3 minutes left, (24-17). The teams went into half-time with the Kings in the lead (33-27).

3^rd Quarter - the Kings held a small lead over their opponents (37-31).  Hickory Christian hit a big 3 point shot to close the King’s lead to 3 pts. (39-36). they (Hickory Christian) eventually tied it up 39 all by hitting another big 3 pt shot.

4^th Quarter - VCCS answered the big 3 by Hickory Christian at the end of the 3^rd with a 2 point shot and a big 3 point shot of their own (44-39)

5:54 left in the game - The Kings rallied to gain a ten point lead (49-39), the Kings continued to hold off their opponents and closed the game with a 13 pt. lead. Final score: VCCS 63 Hickory Christian 50.

Both the VCCS Varsity Boys and Girls teams will be playing on tomorrow - Thursday, February 16th in the Semi-Finals of the 2012 SPAA Tournament, which will be held at Gaston Day.
