DAVIDSON DAY PATRIOTS 3rd Quarter: 2:10 left in the 3rd The Kings again extended their lead by 21 points (34-13) Kings Lead. 4th Quarter- 4:32 left in the game: The Kings continued to play with the same fervor they would have if the game was closer. The team continued to build on their already large lead (44-17) 2:34 left in the game The Kings continued on a successful run. They limited the other team to just 17 points and dominated on both the offense and defense. The team’s aggressive nature and stellar performance, gave them the easy win: the Final Kings 50- Patriots 17 The VCCS Varsity Kings Girls’ Team will face Gaston Day on February 7th at Home in the Victory Youth Building Gymnasium.
The VCCS Boys hosted the Davidson Day Varsity Boys team in the second game of the night. The teams started the game fast paced and aggressive. The Patriots were first on the board with 2 pts on the Board. The guest team scored another 2 points, followed by a free throw (Patriots lead 0-5 in the first). The Kings got on the board with a big 3 point shot (3-5), with 3:43 left in the first quarter. 2:00 minute warning in the first: The Kings seemed a little lost in the beginning of the game. The team struggled at first to keep up with Davidson’s fast paced play. The team fought back gaining 5 more points, 8-14 Davidson Day lead. (6:02 left- 2nd Quarter) The Patriots have a 13 pt lead: The Kings continued to rally, but failed to get closer than within 15points of the lead. The teams went into halftime 27-12 Kings lead. 3:02 Left in the Third Down by 16 the Kings continued to hustle (no doubt rallying for a comeback), the team gained some momentum that helped shrink the Patriots lead (23-37 with 1:19 left in the 3rd) 4th Quarter The Kings got the first score of the (25-41 Patriots lead). The Patriots continued to dominate adding 2 more points to their lead:27-43 (Patriots). 2:56 Left in Game The Patriots built a larger lead by 20 points with 2:18 left in the game (49-29). The Kings scored 9 more points, but their opponents again regained their 20 point lead with a scoring run that featured 3 slam dunks in a row (32 Kings- 52 Patriots) Final Seconds: The Kings continued to rally back, but the lead was too great to overcome, Final 60- 38 Patriots win The VCCS VARSITY BOYS TEAM WILL FACE GASTON DAY ON FEB. 7 LETS GO KINGS!!!!! |
