BAND

The Victory Christian Center High School Band is comprised of an intimate group of students, who learn about the basics of music including music theory, notes and harmonizing.  Students are placed on an intermediate skill set level and are free to play their instruments of choice. In class, they play both Gospel, Jazz and Classical Christian music styles.

In August 2009, Victory Christian Center School offered it's very first "graded" band class, which meets with their instructor on a daily basis. The purpose is to train them to eventually play in a band setting in their churches.  The instructor also focuses on the dynamics of confidence-building as it relates to their performance.

PIANO

Victory Christian Center School offers daily private piano lessons for any of its students in elementary, middle or high school age at an additional cost.

In elementary school classes, students are taught the fundamentals of meter, theory, music notation, and reading music.  Middle and/or High School classes are taught all the fundamentals of meter, theory, music notation, reading music, ear training and playing by ear.

In all of the classes provided, the importance of "Process Over Performance" is stressed as it focuses on making sure students understand each aspect of the fundamentals of the music they are playing rather than just being able to play a song.

CHORUS

The Victory Christian Center High School Chorus learns the fundamentals of music, theory and harmony.  The instructor also focuses on the dynamics of confidence-building.
