Dear Parent(s):

The Varsity teams will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina on Thursday, February 23, 2012, to compete in the NCISAA State Basketball Tournament. The teams will eat breakfast at the High School and then depart at 9:00 a.m. They will return on Saturday afternoon after the tournament. Should that change, your child will call you.

Please be reminded that all students must abide by VCCS’s guidelines for conduct and dress (ie. no jeans, boots, tight fitting clothes). Students should not bring electronic devices and must give their cell phone to their coach upon boarding the bus. Please be aware that on all overnight trips, meal expenses are incurred by the school. Students must bring extra money if they desire to purchase items at the shopping mall.

The teams will be staying at Homewood Suites, 5400 Homewood Banks Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina 27612. The telephone number to the hotel is 1-919-785-1131.

We solicit your prayers and support. For your convenience, game schedules along with directions have been attached. Admission on Thursday and Friday at St. David’s School is $7.00. Admission on Saturday for the Championship Game at Ravenscroft is $10.00. Please find the following itinerary below:

Thursday, February 23

Departure: 9:00 a.m. from the High school

Arrival: 11:45 a.m. (St. David’s School)

Game Times: Girls 1:00 p.m. / Boys 8:30 p.m. @ St. David’s School

Friday & Saturday, February 24 & 25

DIRECTIONS

FROM: VCC HIGH SCHOOL

TO: St. David's School, 3400 White Oak Road, Raleigh, NC 27609

Traveling I-85 North:

Travel I-85 N for approximately 44 miles.

Slight right onto I-40 East. Go 30.4 miles

Take exit 289 to merge onto Wade Avenue toward I-440/US-1 N. Go 3.2 miles

Take the I-440 N/US-1 N/Cliff Benson Beltline N exit toward Wake Forest/Rocky Mt/Wilson. Go 0.2 miles

Merge onto I-440 E /US-1 N/Cliff Benson Beltline. Go 2.5 miles

Take exit 7 for US 70. Go 0.2 miles

Keep right at the fork and merge onto US-70 E/Glenwood Ave. Go 0.6 miles

Turn left onto Pasquotank Drive. Go 0.4 miles

Continue onto Transylvania Avenue. Go 0.2 miles

Turn right onto Rutherford Drive. Go 0.2 miles

Rutherford Drive turns slightly left and becomes Scotland Street.  Go 0.3 miles

Continue onto 3400 White Oak Road.  End at St. David’s School.
